Dr Sujoy Biswas qualified in 1990 in Liverpool and has been practising in the Area for more than 26 years.

Dr Washik Parkar qualified in 1992 in Liverpool.  Dr Parkar has a Special Interest in Cardiology and has been working in the North West for 24 years.

Dr Alison Statham recently joined the practice on a locum basis after retiring from her own Practice in the area.

Sr Maria Jordan in an experienced Practice Nurse working with ourselves, 2 days a week in addition to her role in a GP Practice in Southport.

We have trained three of our practice receptionists to do phlebotomy (take bloods) and undertake blood pressure checks. 

This is to enable us to provide a one-stop service and speed up any investigations that you may require following your GP consultation.  It also allows us to provide phlebotomy services 5 days a week if required. Laura O, Laura T and Freya can also undertake your NHS Health Check and administer your Influenza vaccines if you are eligible.

Nicole is the Business Manager for the practice she has oversight for governance finances. Nicole has extensive experience in practice management, she works 1 day a week with ourselves in addition to two other Practices in Southport.

Bernice is the Operations Manager and is responsible for the day to day running of the Practice. Bernice has extensive experience working within the NHS in a secondary care setting.  

Laura joined us in 2021 after working for a local school and prior to that, she had a finance background.  Laura will often be seen in Reception, taking bloods, blood pressures also assisting Dr Biswas in Minor Surgery!  Laura is currently studying a Healthcare Assistant Qualification.

Laura is our dedicated Military Veteran Champion.

Freya is the most recent recruit to the practice after coming from another local GP Surgery.  Freya has gained experience in most aspects of Reception and has recently completed her training to undertake Phlebotomy and Blood Pressure monitoring.  Freya also be assists in the Sexual Health Service Clinics.

Laura is our dedicated Carers Champion.

Shirley is definately one of our most experienced GP Receptionists.  Shirley joined us after working in GP Practices in Liverpool.

Laura is our dedicated Patient Advocacy Champion.

Denise is one of the existing team from before Dr Biswas took over the practice and therefore is a valued member of the team.  In addition to Reception Duties, Denise is also responsible for the processing and follow-up of Patient Referrals.

Laura formally joined our reception team in 2021 after assisting the Practice with the Northern Parishes Vaccination Programme.  Laura has also completed her training in Phlebotomy, Blood Pressure Monitoring and also be assists in our new Sexual Health Services.

Laura is our dedicated Cancer Champion.

We have a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist based at Burscough Family Practice.  Jeni can monitor your medication, change your dosage and discuss any medication issues that you may have.  Please call reception on 01704 776099 to make an appointment.
